Pricing and payment

What it costs, how you pay, and what happens at renewal. Open this topic on its own page →

How much does a website cost?
  • Packages run from £24.99 to £149.99 a month.
  • The price covers design, build, hosting and support.
  • There is no separate build fee.
Is there a setup fee?
  • No setup fee, ever.
  • Your first payment is your only upfront cost.
  • Your domain is included free.
Are there any hidden charges?
  • No. The price you see is the price you pay.
  • No setup fee, no build fee, and the domain is included.
  • Hosting, SSL, backups and content changes are all in the monthly price.
  • The only thing that ever costs extra is work outside your package — a full redesign or a new feature — and we quote that before anyone starts.
What does "two months free" mean?
  • Pay for the year up front and you pay for ten months, not twelve.
  • Starter is £249.90 instead of £299.88 — a saving of £49.98.
  • Unlimited is £1,499.90 instead of £1,799.88 — a saving of £299.98.
Which is better, monthly or annual?
  • Annual is cheaper — two months free.
  • Monthly spreads the cost and suits a brand new business.
  • You are on the same 12-month commitment either way.
How do I pay?
  • Card, through Stripe.
  • Monthly plans bill on the same date each month.
  • Annual plans bill once a year.
When is the first payment taken?
  • When you check out.
  • Work starts once that payment clears.
What happens if a payment fails?
  • Stripe retries automatically over a few days.
  • We will get in touch before anything is suspended.
Will the price go up?
  • Your price is fixed for your 12-month term.
  • Any change after that is told to you in advance.
Can I change package later?
  • Move up at any time and the new price starts from the next bill.
  • Move down at the end of your term.

Contract and cancellation

The 12-month term, what happens after it, and how to leave. Open this topic on its own page →

How long is the contract?
  • 12 months.
  • After that it continues month to month.
  • Once you are past the 12 months you can cancel with 30 days' notice.
Why is there a 12-month contract?
  • The site is designed, written and built before you have paid much of it.
  • The monthly price only works because it is spread over a year.
Can I cancel in the first year?
  • The 12-month commitment stands, so the remaining payments are still due.
  • Talk to us — if we have got something wrong we would rather fix it.
What happens after 12 months?
  • Nothing changes unless you want it to.
  • The plan rolls on monthly at the same price.
  • 30 days' notice ends it.
How do I cancel?
  • Email or ring us.
  • We will confirm the last billing date in writing.
Do I own my domain?
  • Yes. It is registered in your name from day one.
  • You keep it if you ever leave.
What happens to my website if I leave?
  • The domain is yours and moves with you.
  • Hosting stops, so the site comes down from our servers.
  • Ask us about a copy of the content before you go.
Do you keep my content if I stop paying?
  • We keep backups for a short period after cancellation.
  • Ask for anything you need before that runs out.
Am I personally liable if I sign up for my company?
  • If you sign up on behalf of a company, you also agree personally that the payments will be met.
  • This is set out in the terms you tick at checkout.
Is there a cooling-off period?
  • Rights differ between a consumer and a business customer.
  • The terms set out what applies to you.
  • If in doubt, ask before you buy.

Your domain name

Your web address: choosing it, owning it, keeping it. Open this topic on its own page →

Is a domain name included?
  • Yes — a free .co.uk, .uk or .com.
  • Registered in your name.
What if my domain is taken?
  • We will check on the first call and suggest alternatives.
  • A slightly longer name with your town in it often works better anyway.
Can I use a domain I already own?
  • Yes. We point it at the new site.
  • You keep it where it is or move it to us — your choice.
Who owns the domain?
  • You do.
  • It is registered in your name, not ours.
What happens to my domain if I leave?
  • It stays yours.
  • We release it so you can point it wherever you like.
Should the domain have my town in it?
  • It can help people recognise you, and it reads well in a search result.
  • It is not a ranking trick on its own — the content of the page matters more.
  • We will suggest a few options on the first call.
How long does the domain take to work?
  • A new domain is usually live within a few hours.
  • Moving an existing one can take up to 48 hours to settle.
What happens when the free year is up?
  • The domain renews at cost as part of your package.
  • There is no separate bill for it.
Can I have more than one domain?
  • Yes. Extra domains can point at the same site.
  • Ask us and we will tell you whether it is worth it for your trade.
Is .co.uk or .com better?
  • .co.uk signals a UK business, which helps for local trade.
  • .com suits you if you sell beyond the UK.
  • Both are included at no extra cost.
Do you provide email hosting?
  • No. We build and host websites, not email.
  • Your domain works with any email provider you choose — Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 are the usual ones.
  • We will point the records at whichever you pick.

SEO and getting found on Google

How search works, what we do, and what we will not promise. Open this topic on its own page →

How fast will I rank on Google?
  • A Google Business Profile can appear within days.
  • Search rankings usually build over three to six months.
  • We will not promise page one — anyone who does is guessing.
Can you guarantee first place on Google?
  • No, and nobody honest can.
  • Google does not sell or promise positions.
  • What we can do is make sure nothing on your site holds you back.
What is basic SEO?
  • Page titles and descriptions written for what people actually search.
  • A fast, clean, mobile-friendly build.
  • A sitemap and a Google Business Profile set up for you.
What is full SEO?
  • Everything in basic SEO.
  • Keyword research for your trade and your area.
  • Content written around what customers search for.
  • Ongoing checks and a monthly report.
Why is my competitor above me?
  • They have usually been online longer, or have more reviews.
  • Sometimes their site simply answers the question better.
  • Content and reviews close that gap over time.
Do I need to blog to rank?
  • It is not compulsory, but regular useful content helps.
  • Unlimited includes a weekly post written for you.
Do you buy links?
  • No. Bought links are against Google's guidelines and can get a site penalised.
What is a sitemap?
  • A file that lists your pages so search engines can find them all.
  • Yours is generated automatically and kept up to date.
Will you set up Google Search Console?
  • Yes, on packages with SEO.
  • It is how we see what you are actually being found for.
What slows a site down in search?
  • Slow loading, especially on a phone.
  • Thin pages that do not answer the question.
  • No reviews and no local signals.

Local SEO and Google Maps

Getting into the map pack and winning "near me" searches. Open this topic on its own page →

What is local SEO?
  • Getting found by people searching near you.
  • It covers Google Maps, the local map pack and "near me" searches.
What is a Google Business Profile?
  • The free listing that shows your business on Google Maps.
  • It carries your hours, phone number, photos and reviews.
  • We set it up on packages with SEO.
How do I get in the map pack?
  • A complete, verified Google Business Profile.
  • Consistent name, address and phone number everywhere online.
  • A steady flow of genuine reviews.
Do I need a shop or office?
  • No. A service-area business can list the towns it covers.
  • You can hide your home address if you work from home.
How important are reviews?
  • Very. They influence both ranking and whether someone calls.
  • Local Pro includes setting up a simple way to ask for them.
Can I rank in more than one town?
  • Yes — a page for each town you genuinely serve.
  • Unlimited is built for exactly this.
What is a citation?
  • A mention of your business name, address and phone number on another site.
  • Consistent citations help Google trust your details.
Why does my competitor show on Maps and I do not?
  • Usually an unverified or incomplete profile.
  • Sometimes distance from the searcher.
  • Often simply more reviews.
How long does local SEO take?
  • The profile itself can show in days.
  • Moving up the map pack usually takes a few months.
Do you manage my reviews?
  • We set up the request process.
  • The reviews themselves must be genuine and come from real customers.

Building your site

What happens from the first call to going live. Open this topic on its own page →

How long does it take?
  • Seven days from the first call, in the normal course of things.
  • The main hold-up is usually waiting on photos or approval.
What happens on the first call?
  • Fifteen minutes.
  • What you do, where you do it, and who you want ringing you.
  • That is everything we need to start.
Do I have to write anything?
  • No. We write it.
  • You read it and either say yes or tell us what to change.
Where do the photos come from?
  • Your own photos are always best.
  • If you have none, we use good stock images to start with.
Do I get to see it before it goes live?
  • Yes — a preview link before anything is published.
How many changes can I ask for?
  • As many as it takes to get it right.
What do you need from me?
  • Your business name, what you do and where.
  • A phone number and email for enquiries.
  • Photos and a logo if you have them.
I do not have a logo. Is that a problem?
  • No. We will set your name in type properly.
  • A clear name beats a rushed logo.
Can I see examples first?
  • Ask on the call and we will show you work relevant to your trade.
What if I do not like it?
  • Tell us what is wrong and we will change it.
  • We would rather redo a design than have you unhappy with it.
